Description
China³ is a special lecture series hosted by the San Diego Chinese Historical Museum in collaboration with the San Diego State University Chinese Cultural Center. Lectures in this series will how export porcelain has figured into a global image of China from pre-modern times onwards, facilitating forms of cross-cultural exchange that were distinct from the cycles of colonialism and conquest that characterized relationships across large expanses of the globe from the 16th century until the mid-20th.
The second lecture in the series will explore the migration of patterns and design motifs, borne by goods travelling along the silk road, focusing on exchange between China and the Middle East. Please register to attend@https://SDSU.zoom.us/meeting/register/tZMud-Gurj8pHtwgBM6RYHcGHNYY4LYs5wCc.
