Description
This presentation by Leslie Li and Eric Hung (moderated by Evelyn Lamden) will address the current rise of anti-Asian racism in the United States using the documentary The Kim Loo Sisters, as a prism to shed light on the critical issues of race, immigration, ethnicity, and cultural identity. The "Kimmies" were a Chinese American jazz vocal quartet popular in the 1930s and '40s and the first Asian American act to star in Broadway revues.
