Summary
Description
The first part of the program on 05/15 will feature a lecture to be provided by Bob Stein (moderated by Russell Low). Bob's presentation will explore the stories of prior residents of San Diego's historic Chinatown through objects that were unearthed from archaeological digs at sites where the Harbor Club towers and the CCBA Senior Gardens apartment buildings currently stand.
Following Dr. Stein's lecture, around 11 a.m. PDT, we will transition to a national rally to #StopAAPIHate. With our friends at APAPA San Diego, we will hold a panel discussion with Todd Gloria (Mayor of the City of San Diego), Chris Cate (Councilmember, representing the 6th district of the City of San Diego), Summer Stephan (District Attorney of San Diego County), and David Nisleit (San Diego PD Chief of Police), moderated by Melissa Mecija (ABC 10 News, San Diego). Be sure to stick around after the lecture and join voices to take action against acts of hate on AAPI and all other communities!
Please register to attend both actitivites on Saturday 05/15 (from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. PDT)@https://sdsu.zoom.us/meeting/register/tZUpfuippjMsHdDtm0o79oqYnI4ttjzqVBpb
