1st Saturday Lecture - Walking Tour of the Asian Pacific Historical District

The San Diego Chinese Historical Museum is partnering with the SDSU Chinese Cultural Center to bring twice-monthly remote educational programming to our community via this series of talks and discussions.  Building off of the Museum's Volunteer & Docent Training Program, this series offers unique insights into  Chinese history, Chinese culture, American history and lifeways of Chinese Americans, with a particular focus on objects represented in the Museum’s permanent collection. 

On October 3, we will be joined by Amie Lee Garapich and Michael Yee, who will present a virtual tour, exploring the historical district of Chinese, Japanese and Filipino communities between the Gaslamp district and the Marina area. Many historical buildings that now serve as restaurants or public places have stories behind them. Listen to these stories as you look at the buildings.
