TCAE&B: Never Go Hungry Again! (Zoom Lecture)

The San Diego Chinese Historical Museum is partnering with the SDSU Chinese Cultural Center to produce this monthly Zoom lecture series.

For our January 2025 edition of The Chinese American Experience & Beyond, author, Bernice Ng, will give a talk based on her 2017 book, Never Go Hungry Again! The narrative is based on her mother’s upbringing in a small village in China, where she was left when her parents went to the United States to build a better life.  After surviving a difficult childhood between different families in her hometown, Betty, as she was later called, also immigrated to California, where she eventually met her parents and siblings.
